Pedestrian refuges considered forBelsize Road

FOLLOWING a campaign by local residents, Roads Service are considering installing pedestrian refuges on the Belsize Road and Harmony Hill.

Residents concerned about the traffic in the area have campaigned for a roundabout at the junction of the two roads in the hope of slowing down the traffic and making it easier for pedestrians to cross the roads.

However, according to Lisburn Councillor Ronnie Crawford, Roads Service did not feel the criteria for installing a roundabout had been met but indicated that pedestrian refuges may assist local people who are attempting to cross the busy roads.
