LONDONDERRY's budding filmakers are being offered the opportunity to enter a prestigious cinematic competition.
The Cinemagic International Film Festival for Young People has launched its annual Young Filmaker Competition for 2008.
Judges will be looking for imaginative and original short films made by young people to be showcased as part of the Festival whic
h takes place in Belfast from November 13-30. The competition is free to enter and it is open to young people from across the UK and Ireland aged 4-25 years old.
Cinemagic Festival Programmer, Chris Shaw said: "The competition offers young people a chance to submit their films to Cinemagic and have them judged by a panel of industry professionals.
"Whether you a are a first-time filmaker or developing your film making skills the competition offers a great platform to showcase your work."
Shortlisted films will appear in a number of categories and will be screened during the festival and applicants to the competition will also have the opportunity to participate in a festival masterclass of their choice and attend a series of festival of films.
Deadline for entries to the Cinemagic Young Filmaker Competition is October 31. All you ned do is send a VHS or DVD copy of your film with a completed entry form to Cinemagic Young Filmmaker 2008, to Chris Shaw, Cinemagic, 49 Botanic Avenue, Belfast, BT7 1JL.
Films should be no longer than 15 minutes and entry forms can be downloaded from
