THE next and final meeting of the Nicholls Supermarket Eglinton & District Darts League, will take place next Monday, August 18, in the Rising Sun Bar, Greysteel, at 8.30pm sharp.
Any new teams are more than welcome to register at this meeting to join this league which has been running successfully for many years.
The new darts season will begin on Thursday, September 4. Teams are very welcome to register from any area or oth
er league either Men, Ladies or Youths over 16 years of age.
The league is the only championship locally which pays prize money for all final league positions and the prize fund for the champions alone is approximately £2,000 plus for this coming season.
The league also has three main cups which are the Bob Mullan Motors Cup, Nicholls Supermarket Cup and the 'Four Person Cup', which also pays good cash prizes from semi-final stages onwards.
The league programme also includes a singles memorial event, singles cup and a pairs cup which all have cash prizes plus crystal.
Last season the league started with eight teams, which seven players to play a game although on average there were 10-12 players registered for each pub team.
A present the league programme runs every Thursday night and confirmation on new rules and number of players will be discussed and agreed at the above meeting.
The Eglinton & District darts league is also signed up the Northern ireland Darts Organisation so all the players can take part in the many darts competitions province wide throughout the year. Players will be kept informed at meetings of darts events taking place.
In recent times there have been successful players from our league both in Mens and especially youth players representing there county and also the Northern Ireland team.
