Last year’s winner Stephen Johnston (12) won The Captain’s Prize at Lambeg for the second year in a row in a tightly fought competition with 42 pts.

The changeable weather and some difficult pin positions added to the challenge and this was proven with the final scoring, four points separating the top 16 players. Stephen started his round modestly with bogeys at the first three holes but he really settled down with two pars and a fantastic birdie on the next three. Another three pars took him to an excellent 22pts for the front nine.

He got off to a reasonable start on the back nine but he almost let it slip with a double bogey at the index 1 fifteenth. Stephen did not let this get to him and finished with a brilliant run of three pars on the last three. Congratulations to Stephen for a magnificent performance.
